Fortune has released its 27th annual Most Powerful Women in Business list, celebrating 100 trailblazing female leaders across industries ranging from tech and healthcare to retail and energy. This year’s lineup, the second to feature global entries, showcases women shaping not only their companies but entire sectors. With leaders from powerhouse economies like the U.S., Japan, France, and China, the list reflects the growing influence of women in both established and emerging markets.

A Diverse and Global Power Shift
This year’s edition highlights 12 leaders from East Asia, eight each from the U.K. and France, and three each from Australia and Singapore. Smaller but equally impressive contributions come from Brazil, Spain, and Germany, each represented by two leaders.

The editors at Fortune crafted the list based on multiple factors: company size and health, the career trajectory of each leader, their influence beyond the workplace, and their ability to wield power strategically. Among the honorees are 65 CEOs, including Mitsuko Tottori of Japan Airlines and Bonnie Chan of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing—both making history as the first women to helm their companies.

AI Innovators and Financial Powerhouses
With artificial intelligence reshaping industries, this year’s list features several leaders riding the AI wave. Notable new entries include Fei-Fei Li, a pioneer in computer science, and Daniela Amodei, president and co-founder of Anthropic. The list also shines a spotlight on the rise of “super CFOs” like Nvidia’s Colette Kress, whose financial expertise plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of tech giants.

A Testament to Transformation
Fortune’s Editor-in-Chief Alyson Shontell remarked on the continued importance of the list:
“The Most Powerful Women in Business list serves as a powerful reminder of the impact women leaders have in shaping the future. They aren’t just adapting to change—they’re leading the charge.”

Fortune CEO Anastasia Nyrkovskaya, the company’s first female chief executive, echoed these sentiments:
“These women are transforming industries with bold leadership and fresh perspectives. Their influence will shape positive change for years to come.”
