GCI’s focus will be on shaping public policy, supporting startups, and guiding the responsible use of emerging tech, such as AI, in sectors like healthcare, supply chains, and education.
The institute’s first priority is partnering with governments to develop responsible AI policies and other tech-driven solutions. GCI will act as a bridge between entrepreneurs and policymakers to foster innovation and resilience.
Teresa Carlson, former public sector leader at AWS and Microsoft, will serve as GCI’s president, while Maryam Mujica, a former U.S. State Department official, will take on the role of chief public policy officer. A Responsible Defense and Risk Committee, with members like former CIA COO Andrew Makridis, will provide guidance on tech and defense innovations.
